Nu-Wave Optima? is Euphonic?s next generation flexible platform for long haul, regional, and metro DWDM applications. With service-specific networks converging into multi-service networks, Nu-Wave Optima delivers high capacity and performance while simplifying the overall network infrastructure and operation. It allows service providers to efficiently scale and tailor multi-purpose network architectures using a common set of high density next generation modules (see Figure 1). Nu-Wave Optima, with its modular design, brings unprecedented network and service flexibility and a lower cost of ownership.

Nu-Wave Optima enables service providers to future-proof their optical infrastructure. With Euphonic?s implementation of 100G with All-Raman and hybrid EDFA/Raman amplification on the Nu-Wave Optima, service providers and enterprises can maximize the capacity of their existing fiber plant without costly re-engineering or complex infrastructure upgrades. As bandwidth requirements continue to increase, Euphonic?s unique All-Raman amplification can increase capacity up to 15 Terabits per second (150 channels of 100 Gbits/s). Fully-tunable XFP-based universal 10G muxponders supporting applications and services such as Ethernet, SONET/SDH, SAN, and video deliver the scalability and flexibility that service providers and enterprises need to quickly deploy the revenue generating services required by their customers. For added flexibility and increased network availability, the Nu-Wave Optima platform includes state-of-the-art multi-degree ROADMs, allowing linear, ring, and mesh topologies to be deployed.

Nu-Wave Optima is remotely managed and monitored through Euphonic?s Nu-Wave Network Management System (NMS), a unified management system that provides a true end-to-end network management transport solution. Combined with the integrated NMS, Nu-Wave Optima enables service providers and enterprises to build next generation optical transport networks and meet the demands of the service evolution.
